Bootcamp Mom,...NOT!

I’ve always been the one to be tough on the nieces and nephews and say “when I have my kids they’ll know better; they better not act like that…”……now that I’m a momma,….I see just how difficult it is to discipline these little angles. I mean I’m already at the phase where my son is going to think his name is No……I say it allllll day looong! Poor kid. But then he looks at me with this little pout and his little eyes and gives me a smile like saying “oh c’mon sucker fall for it like everyone else”,……….and then I can hear saying “works every time” and I snap out of it! Phew! Almost fell for it again! This parenting thing is harder than I thought. Mostly because I didn’t have the same love I have for the other kids like I have for my little one…….but you know what? This is just now,….wait until he starts doing stuff on purpose and knows he’s doing it on purpose. No more Mr. Nice Guy.

I hear yah on the having to be Ms. Meany all the time. It's hard, but it does pay off. I now have 3, and have to say that I didn't have to be as tough on the other 2 because they just knew the rules. Thanks for commenting on my blog, and as for traffic - I have made a point of interacting with lots of other Moms, commenting a lot, and joining EVERYTHING! It takes time, but pays off too.

I used to get "Mum says its okay, but I have to ask you" and Mum wasn't always around to check if Mum DID actually say it was okay.

And yeah, the pout is a killer.

My kids knew that "No" meant "No", and it was so much easier then after the spur-of-the-moment "no" you thought about it and said, "okay". "No", always gave me breathing space.

If they really bugged me they got the "No, is a little word" routine... "what part of it don't you understand?"

Haha, I've said the same thing. I haven't had kids yet, but I'm sure I'll fall for the same cute look or excuses that my nephews have used on my sister.
